Spring Sprint 07 at Thunderhill

Dad, Cary, Craig, Jeff and I all went to the Spring Sprint Open Track driving event at Thunderhill with the NorCal Shelby Club. This is a fantastic club and they run really good events. Of course I'm partial to them because of the emphasis on raced out Mustangs and Shelbys of all types. Saturday they had a drivers' school. The first half of the day was devoted to excercises in different parts of the track. We did slalom, skidpad, cornering, and emergency braking excercises. We had instructors with us in the car telling us what to do.

The rest of the weekend was just open track practice, and you could grab an instructor at any time and have them sit in with you. Did I say fun? Really fun. Towards the end of the weekend i felt really in sync, and was in a real zone on the track - just the sound of the engine in my head - no thoughts. We all went home peaceful and relaxed on sunday night.
